Cassano’s Pizza was founded by Kettering, Ohio grocer Victor “Vic” J. Cassano, Sr. and Caroline “Mom” Donisi in 1953. Pepperoni the Clown was the pizzeria’s mascot, appearing in parades and grand openings in the 1960s and 1970s before being replaced by The Pizza King.
